Astrophytum myriostigma cv. Hakujo Fukuryu is a cultivar born of careful cultivation, Originating from Japan, where skilled growers meticulously bred this variant. “Kikko” loosely translates to “turtle shell” or “armor” in Japanese and is used to describe cultivars with exaggerated ribs.

Care

Like most xerophytes from Mexico, this cultivar grows best in a high-mineral mix and requires infrequent watering. Variegated plants burn easily and should be kept in light shade. Overwatering can cause the plant to split or rot!
